Mr. DuPont Ranger, Tear Down that Sign ! or unscrew it either way! Smile

one less hazzard sign on our trails! "Caution this sign has sharp edges" or "Warning , Sign with sharp edges ahead" Wink what the world doesn't need, is more signs

Saturday was the Trail workday on the beloved Airstrip trail in DuPont State Forest. SLIDESHOW HERE ...and Yes that sign came down!

Yeah, i'm sure people are going to complain about "awe man, you screw'd up my favorite trail" well.....

...and all were invited to come out, to be a part of the planning, repairing, and rerouting of some of the user conflict / problem areas

Areas Worked

  • Upper Half - De-berming sections to get water off the trail
  • Repairing big berm turn
  • Re-routing lower straight away section (preventing trail erosion & and speed related user conflicts)
  • Re-routing end section at Shelter Rock Intersection

Great Turn out.... around 30 volunteers showed up, Pisgah Area SORBA, Upstate SORBA , and even a handful of TORC from Raliegh area, plus the Trail Dynamics Crew

Thanks to those who came and made a huge effort to make this trail better than before!
